Veterinary is a term that is used to define the work of a person who is responsible for treating sick or injured animals, and also providing animal medical treatment. Veterinary public health (VPH) is a branch of public health that focuses on using veterinary science to safeguard and promote people's physical, mental, and social health. Veterinarians diagnose, research, and control indirect zoonoses and non-zoonotic communicable diseases that threaten human health in addition to handling direct zoonotic diseases in animals. A multitude of ethical issues are also addressed in veterinary public health.
