Speech Therapy

Speech-language pathology, often known as speech and language pathology, is a medical specialty that is performed all over the world. Evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of communication disorders (speech and language impairments), cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders, and swallowing difficulties across the lifespan are all areas of expertise in speech-language pathology (SLP). The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and Speech Pathology Australia are two professional organisations that occasionally classify it as a "related health profession" or allied health profession. Audiology, optometry, occupational therapy, rehabilitation psychology, physical therapy, and other allied health professions are examples. A clinician who works in the field of speech-language pathology is called a speech-language pathologist (SLP), a speech and language therapist (SLT), or occasionally a speech therapist.
