Health Promotion and Communications

Health Promotion and Communications

Individuals, populations, and communities can be influenced and entitled to make healthier choices through health communication, which encompasses both verbal and written tactics. To encourage positive changes in attitudes and actions, health communication frequently incorporates elements from many theories and models. Health communication is linked to social marketing, which is the creation of activities and interventions aimed at changing habits for the betterment. Health communication is a distinct area of medicine that allows practitioners to employ communication tactics to inform and influence public decisions and actions in order to promote health. Because effective health communications must be tailored to the audience and situation, health communication research aims to improve communication tactics to educate individuals on how to improve their health or prevent certain health hazards.
