Biography:
Dr. Jia Xu is the lead Principal Investigator of two projects funded by the Singapore National Medical Research Council and A*STAR. As a Senior Scientist at the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences, A*STAR, she leads the microbiome studies in two local longitudinal birth and preconception cohorts: GUSTO and S-PRESTO. Her research focuses on unravelling gut microbiome’s role in the development of metabolic disorders in children and women. Employing a comprehensive longitudinal and integrative multi-omics approach, her work not only advances the understanding of microbial influences on health but also explores the interplay between nutrition and gut microbiome in metabolic wellness.
