Biography:
Dr. Hawa Camara, PhD, MPH is a Senior Cancer Prevention Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). She holds a PhD in Medicine from UNSW in Sydney, Australia. For 15 years, she has led multidisciplinary public health teams and projects globally including the US, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Guinea, and Haiti. She has worked with senior officials in numerous countries implementing evidence-based interventions. Dr. Camara currently conducts social and behavioural research on cervical cancer prevention using mixed methods, and implementation science to help improve the implementation of critical preventive measures in low-resource settings.
