Abstract:

The increase number of patients with dementia, cancer, chronic disease and palliative care as been demonstrated by previous researches a Parallel growing of informal caregivers. The Zarit Burden Interview Arabic version was used to assess the level of burden experience by caregivers from a Home Health Care in Military hospital on Riyadh Saudi Arabia. The study included caregivers from different patients groups of diseases (palliative, cancer, dementia and chronic) all adult patients. The aim of the study is to identify and compare the different types of burden among informal caregivers experienced by this different groups. The result will be helpful to determine the specific programs according to the caregivers level of burden. (Research on process)

  • Audience will learn as a general public in their practice life the importance to identify the burden of some close family or even themselves as an informal caregiver, which resources available (ex.home health care nurse, psychology ), programs to help how to deal with patients needs in a way to be more confident in theirs interventions in a way to decrease their burden
  • As professionals health cares this will help their practice in a way to develop more strategies and give empowerment for the informal caregivers to decrease their burden and consequences depression or anxiety. Create programmes for more education to the informal caregivers. Erase the psychology support as a preventable why to avoid de “high burden” that can lead for more morbidity of general population 
  • This research could expand the needs for do more interventions on the community. We experienced a previous world crisis on health due the pandemic situation and it is mandatory to improve the cares in the community, to give the right tools to all population that will face a situation of informal caregiver, so In that way the costs, the needs of health care profissional will more managble for all population
  • This could lead to simplify the health care needs because how identify who has a “high burden”we can arrange more visits as home health cares, specific programs, to decrease the burden and avoid future worst diseases from the informal caregiveres
  • The problem of the burden of informal caregivers is already identify in many countries and with a simple tool could bring so many benefits for all community (less cost, less disorders, less needs of profissional resources)

Biography:

Mrs.Daniela Patricia Santos Costa is a Senior Nurse, graduated in 2011 in University “Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Coimbra” (Portugal). She has Experience in Home Health Care in Portugal (2012-2018) and also in Oncology/ Palliative Patients in Saudia Arabia Hospital (2018-2022). At the moment she is working in Home Health Care in Hospital Saudia Arabia. She is only a nurse but with deeply pation on the community all different kind of cultures and try to find their needs to improve their lifes as well in all prevention programs of public health.
