Biography:

Samina Akhtar is a PhD candidate in population and public health at Aga Khan University, where she also serves as an instructor in research. Her research focuses on the prevention and management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), with a particular emphasis on cardiovascular health. She is passionate about developing and implementing innovative, evidence-based interventions that promote healthier lifestyles in diverse populations. Her current PhD project is pioneering in Pakistan, introducing workplace-based interventions aimed at reducing cardiovascular risk among sedentary employees. Beyond research, she is dedicated to advancing public health practice through capacity building, collaboration, and policy-relevant contributions.
