Biography:
Dr. Aabid Ahmed is the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Investigator at Bomu Hospital and affiliated sites. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nairobi, a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Research Administration from the University of Liverpool, UK, and a PhD in Public Health Epidemiology from the Walden University, USA. Dr. Ahmed has had sixteen years of progressive experience as a medical practitioner, program leader, manager, principal investigator, and chief executive in US and GoK funded HIV, family planning, and reproductive health programs. Experienced in organizing multidisciplinary teams and planning exercises that have expanded quality HIV services in the facility; innovating practical models for quality improvement in the HIV program; scale up of community and facility programs; stimulating increased attention to partner involvement in HIV care and treatment, and piloting community involvement projects. Dr. Ahmed’s interest in clinical research has placed the institution in the international academic field through conducting clinical research at Bomu and publishing scientific papers in international journals.
