Biography:
Aditi Manjunath is a student researcher interested in neuroscience, psychiatry, and public health, with a focus on the biological mechanisms underlying eating disorders. Her research explores how psychosocial stress and social pressure influence brain reward circuitry through neuroendocrine systems, particularly the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and mesolimbic dopamine pathways. She is especially interested in how environmental factors interact with neural systems involved in reward processing, stress response, and behavior regulation within a biopsychosocial framework. She is interested in how this research can inform prevention and intervention strategies for eating disorders and related mental health disorders.
